preslee's been waking up the last couple of nights with growing pains in her cute little legs.
last night i rubbed her legs and we ate wheat thins dipped in cottage cheese at 3 in the morning.
it took me back to when i was a little girl calling out for my dad in the night because my legs were booming with the same pains. one time we ate frosted mini wheats together while everyone else slept. i can remember it so well.
and today i thought about how growing pains never really go away for anyone, and they are just a part of life for us to... well to grow.
the pains transform from little aches and pains when we're little to other sorts of pains as we get older ...like loneliness, physical sickness, heartache, homesickness, financial burden, or loss.
and when preslee told me in the night that she "didn't want to drink milk and grow" because her legs hurt, i reminded her that it is good to grow and that the pains wont last long.
and then i told myself the same...it's okay to have pains along the way because that's why were here in the first place right?
to grow...

Sweet post Tam. Joey has woken up many times for leg rubs. Poor little things. Preslee is too cute!
What a good mom you are! Poor little Pres. Seeing our kids hurt is so hard! Sounds like you knew just what to do to make her feel better- and to pass on some cute memories.
Tam, when I grow up, I want to be just like you.
tam you amaze me. i hope that i am as good as a mom as you are when i am older. you're incredible. love you
